<div>27-year-old Spencer Daniels, the son of my best friend of 44 years, Heather Daniels and her husband of 31 years, Phil Daniels, has sustained life-threatening injuries from a tragic motorcycle accident that occurred on Friday evening, September 20, 2024.  His injuries include five broken ribs on his right side, three broken ribs on his left side, a broken scapula, a broken clavicle, and lacerated lungs that were sustained from the broken ribs. He has received multiple blood transfusions due to continued internal bleeding.

<div>After being in ICU for 9 days in Fort Myers, the doctors exhausted all their resources to properly balance and regulate the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in Spencer’s lungs. A machine exists at Tampa General Hospital that if he qualifies for it, can regulate the levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide, so his lungs can finally start to heal.

<div>Spencer was airlifted to TGH at 3am on Monday, September 30th. Heather and Phil received the most amazing news from the surgeon at TGH, confirming that Spencer does indeed qualify for the machine that will take the carbon dioxide out of his lungs and balance the levels so that his lungs can rest and finally begin healing.  He is currently on the machine and the doctors are very optimistic he will recover.

<div>Spencer will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time while his body heals from his injuries. His journey to recovery will be long, and his medical bills will be substantial.  Any help that you can comfortably donate, would be greatly appreciated, as Spencer’s medical bills are growing.
