Some of my earliest memories as a child in Varna, Bulgaria, are of my father, a conductor, whose passion for music shaped my entire life. I started piano at the age of five and later discovered and cultivated my path in conducting. Music became my language, my community, and my calling.

That same calling led me to create Varna International Music Academy with my wife Sharon — together we’ve built a non-profit in South Carolina, where young artists, from all backgrounds, can grow through world-class training and performance opportunities.

Over the years, I’ve learned that it’s not just the programs or venues that make the Varna International experience meaningful — it’s the people we meet and the relationships we build along the way that leave the deepest impact. I am moved time and time again when I see men and women from different nationalities and cultures unite on a single platform for a single purpose: to celebrate music.

Welcome to Muzika! 2025 — and the heart of our mission: youth.

Every year, Varna International hosts over 250 artists, faculty, and students for 20+ stage productions. But the real magic? It’s what happens offstage — when young musicians from right here in South Carolina step into the spotlight for the very first time.

- A middle schooler discovering their voice in a professional masterclass.

- A high schooler who’s never seen an opera... now playing in the pit.

- A student from a rural community singing in a world-class production.

What does your gift to music education really do?

It puts a violin into a child’s hands, a mentor by their side, and a dream within reach. It sends a South Carolina student to an international music academy that could change their life — and their future. At Varna International, we see this transformation every year.
