 If you know me, you know that my 6-year-old son, Sir John, is my absolute world. He is the sweetest, brightest light, and for his entire 6 years of life, he has been a brave and courageous warrior fighting Nephrotic Syndrome, a serious Kidney Disorder.

 <strong>Sir has endured more in his short life than most do in a lifetime—every 3 months, he undergoes Rituximab treatments, along with Lasix treatments, frequent hospitalizations, and painful weekly blood draws.</strong> Despite it all, his spirit remains unbroken, and he somehow still finds a way to smile through the pain.

 <strong>Unfortunately, we are now facing our hardest trial yet. Sir’s kidney function rapidly declined, and we were urgently transferred to a hospital two hours away from our home so he could be admitted to the pediatric ICU for emergency dialysis and intensive treatment.</strong> He has been placed on multiple new medications alongside his previous regimen to help control his blood pressure and stabilize him before, during, and after dialysis. We are looking at a minimum stay of 4 weeks in the Pediatric ICU, as his medical team works tirelessly to stabilize him.

 Sir’s medical needs are exceptionally complex, and his developmental needs make this hospital stay even more delicate. Sir is non-verbal and autistic. Navigating a loud, high-sensory, and terrifying ICU environment—far away from his familiar surroundings—is overwhelming for him.

 He currently has multiple PICC lines and a catheter placement, and he does not allow hospital staff to touch him or place his medical equipment. I am the only person he trusts. I personally have to assist with placing his blood pressure cuff, putting on his pulse oximeter, and guiding him through every single procedure.

 Because he cannot verbally express his pain, sensory overload, or fear, I am his voice and his hands. My constant presence isn't just emotional support—it is a critical medical necessity to keep him calm, safe, and cooperative during invasive treatments. Leaving his side is simply not an option.

<div>
 Throughout my life and my profession, I have poured myself into giving back, volunteering, and serving others. I have dedicated my career to holding space for people in their darkest hours. Today, this mama needs help so she can give all of herself to her sweet boy when he needs her most.

 As a family, we walk by faith. We are trusting God completely through this storm, standing on His promises, and believing in Sir’s complete healing and restoration. But God also works through community, and right now, we cannot walk this road alone.

 <strong>Because Sir requires my 24/7 care and specialized advocacy at his bedside, I am completely unable to work during this time.</strong> Being displaced two hours away from home adds immense travel, lodging, food, and daily living costs on top of rapidly mounting medical expenses and keeping up with our mortgage, service animal, and household bills so Sir has a safe home to return to.
