Support Silvia's Family Puerto Rico

Colleagues, 
As you all know, Puerto Rico was devastated by hurricane Maria. So many people there need significant support to recover. We have an opportunity to support a family directly in their efforts to recover. Our colleague Silvia's parents and her sister's family live in Puerto Rico. Their homes were heavily damaged (possibly even destroyed completely) and their lives will never be the same. Our School of Special Education at UNC has consistently supported faculty when they are faced with trying times. Let's contribute as we can and spread this around to raise money to help Silvia's family. 
Because communication with her family is sporadic, the extent of her family’s needs and exactly what is needed is not clear. So, let's just raise a bunch of money so Silvia can help her family in any way they need. This will probably initially include paying for flights to the US to regroup and plan, as well as funds to replace necessities like clothing and food. Then, the process of rebuilding and starting over will be expensive. They need us. We can do this.
