<div>Hi friends, as some of you are aware, for the last several years, <strong>Sid has been dealing with an addiction to methamphetamines</strong> that started when a co-worker gave him some to get through work following my father's death.

<div>Sid's been going through various levels of motivation to address this addiction and finally hit rock bottom after relapsing and being arrested for possession of methamphetamines. It seems to have been the wake-up call he needed as to how severe his addiction is and how much it was destroying him and our family, and he is finally voicing the desire and need to attend inpatient treatment.

<div>While our health insurance is pretty good, we will still be responsible for paying $3,200 to cover our out-of-pocket maximum and deductible for his treatment. Normally, I would be able to cover costs myself; however, with the missed work dealing with the situation, being a single earner in our household for the last year while Sid tried to manage his recovery and mental health, and having to reduce my client load to care for our daughter and now my mom as her health declines (yay Parkinson's and memory loss), I'm just not able to do it without help.

<div>For those who know Sid, especially Sid when he is clean, you know that he is a super caring, ride-or-die, give-you-the-shirt-off-his-back kind of guy. He has such a big heart and is constantly giving and trying to help others even when he is down himself. I'm really hoping that in the spirit of that, we can help give back to him at a time when he really needs it.
