Shumeka Johnson is a devoted wife and mother of five, and a self-employed stylist at BTB Cut and Color Salon. On April 22nd, while taking her children to school, Shumeka was involved in a serious car accident. The impact left her with injuries requiring several ongoing surgeries, and she now faces the challenge of learning to walk again. With a newborn daughter just six months old, Shumeka’s recovery is even more demanding, and she is unable to work during this difficult time.

As her friend and the owner of the salon, I felt compelled to do something to help. Shumeka’s family is facing mounting expenses—bills, childcare, rent, groceries, and daily needs—while she focuses on healing and caring for her children. The financial strain is overwhelming, especially as she welcomes a new baby and navigates the uncertainty of her recovery.

Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Supporters, I’m reaching out today on behalf of someone truly special—Shumeka Johnson. If you know Shumeka, you already understand the warmth, strength, and love she brings into every room she enters. She is a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a loyal friend, a caring sister, and a cherished daughter. Simply put, she is someone who shows up for others—again and again, without hesitation. Right now, Shumeka needs us to show up for her. As she welcomes a newborn baby into the world—a time that should be filled with joy and peace—she is also facing challenges that no one should have to carry alone. The weight of these circumstances, especially during such a tender and demanding season of life, makes your support more meaningful than words can express. Shumeka has spent so much of her life giving to others. Now it’s our turn to surround her with that same love, care, and generosity. No contribution is too small—every act of kindness helps lighten her burden and reminds her that she is not alone. If you are able, please consider donating and sharing this message with others. Together, we can make a real difference for Shumeka and her family during this critical time. Thank you for your compassion, your generosity, and your heart. With gratitude, Angel Mackey
