Support Sheri After Losing Her Beloved

I'm fundraising for funeral expenses and assistance with other costs associated with the passing of my husband, Jonathan Donley.

I was blessed to have someone that would encourage me even through times where his pain was so severe that pain medication brought no relief. He used to always say to me that "I am not going out this way, or I am not going to leave you." It is with an extremely heavy heart that I lost my husband and best friend on August 9, 2024.

When he first realized that there was something wrong, we went to the emergency room and were told that he had colitis, so based on that information he continued working for 3 months until he could no longer endure the pain. He called me from work one night and said "I have to leave work, I can't do this anymore." He got home and I took him to the emergency room where we sat for hours waiting for someone to see him as he was bent over in excruciating pain. They admitted him and performed an endoscopy and a colonoscopy, the doctor that performed those procedures came and discussed the outcome with me. The words you never want to or never think you'll hear, "we are 99.9% sure its malignant cancer." The words that he spoke after that I will never forget, "but we don't see any reason to rush him down to the operating room or nothing." Thank God for the hospitalist that told us that "when you leave here, you take him to such and such hospital, DO YOU HEAR ME?" So, we left one hospital and drove to another 1 hour and 40 minutes away and 4 days later he had lifesaving emergency surgery to cut out the bulging mass on his colon. We had then found out that the cancer was on his liver, stage 4 cancer. Jon wanted to live, so he went through 2 types of Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy (which almost ended his life and put him in the hospital for weeks), then radiation that caused him so much pain he had to stop the treatments. I could go on about all the horrors that we went through.

The most comforting out of any of this, is that Jon walked close with the Lord and shared his faith everywhere he went. Through all of this he always remained positive and determined that he was going to win this battle and as hard and painful as it is for me, he did win, he went to be with the Lord where there is no more pain and suffering. My loss is beyond a doubt heaven's gain.

Jon was always willing to use his abilities to fix virtually anything to help family members and others in need. He always welcomed everyone into our home and enjoyed serving others. He also loved working on projects with me and fixing things in our home. He will not only be greatly missed by me, but all lives that he touched in his time on this earth.

Donations are greatly appreciated to help me navigate through the next process of grieving and rebuilding
