Support Shep's Battle

This is my brother, Gary, or as I call him, “JR” and many of you know him as “Shep.” He fought for our country for twenty years and has found himself in the biggest fight of his life - the fight for his children. I can’t say much here because he is now involved in a legal battle for custody of his two children and I don’t want to add any fuel to the fire that could damage his case in ANY way, just know that this guy loves his kids more than anything in the world and it’s going to cost him dearly to go into that battle. He has pulled out his savings and cashed in his small investments that were set aside for the future, knowing that without coming out swinging right now that the future will be a lot less certain for him and his kids. His lawyer said that he hasn't had to go to battle like this in a while, that most cases can be settled through mediation, but without both parties being able to be reasonable (he’s not even being allowed overnight visits), and considering the circumstances, he’s going to need a substantial retainer. It’s a lot of money, but to ensure that these two kids in their formative and impressionable years are with my brother, who wants to provide them with a loving and supportive home, it’s a good investment in their future.
I know a lot of you know my brother and know he’s a good man (although maybe his teachers in high school would have referred to him with more colorful words ;)) and some of you are more familiar with the circumstances that I can’t go into here, so I wanted to provide the opportunity, if you have the means, to help him out in even the smallest way so he can press forward in this fight. He said that this has been worse than any of his bloody tours (and there were nearly a dozen) and he needs help. He’s pretty full of pride, but for his kids, he’ll let that guard down if it means he can go to battle better prepared for the sake of his children. He doesn’t have any family over in Delaware, and most of his friends are over here in California, so even if you can’t help out financially, if you could send him a private message of support, that would be wonderful.
