A Transformational Journey into Matriarchal Living
Dear Friends & Supporters,
We are calling on our global community to help us to invite more women to the SHE-EDE Nashira 2025.
This is an invitation to step into a real, thriving community built by and for women who have dared to dream of a different way of living.
SHE-EDE Nashira 2025 is a 30-day immersion in Nashira Ecoaldea, Colombia, where women from all walks of life will come together to learn, grow, and reconnect with what it means to live in true harmony with one another and the Earth.
In recent years we have been confronted with the reality that although many women would like to be able to participate, they face financial constraints that prevent them from moving forward. We believe that financial limitations should not be a barrier to transformation. This is why we are opening this space. With your support, we can ensure that women from the Global South, underrepresented communities and financial constraints have access to this profound experience, can receive a Global Village certification and bring this knowledge to their projects and communities.
Nashira: A Living, Breathing Community of Resilience and Love
After the first SHE-EDE in Magliano in 2023 and a series of recurring programs in Italy and Portugal throughout 2024, we have decided to bring this transformative experience to South America for the first time.
This edition of SHE-EDE will take place in Nashira Ecoaldea, a living testament to resilience, autonomy, and collective wisdom.
Nashira is a community where women, despite facing violence and displacement, have chosen to rebuild their lives with love, respect, and self-governance. With 88 homes and 38 productive units, it thrives on matriarchal values, mutual support, and sustainability.
Why here?
Because we believe these principles should not just be studied in theory but lived and embodied in real, everyday experiences.
The women of Nashira are already creating profound change, redefining ways of living in a community. By holding SHE-EDE in Nashira, we aim to amplify their work, learn from their journey, and share their powerful model of transformation with more people.
Participants will learn about ecovillage design and live, cook, share, and connect with the incredible women of Nashira. Together, we will exchange knowledge, stories, and practices—co-creating a world where women lead with wisdom and care.
A Journey of Healing, Connection, and Purpose
During SHE-EDE Nashira, the participants will:
- Live in a real matriarchal community, where governance is shared, and the maternal gift economy thrives.
- Immerse in embodied leadership practices rooted in ancestral traditions and feminine wisdom.
- Connect with a global network of women, co-creating solutions for a more just and regenerative world.
- Reclaim our voice and stories, honouring the deep, collective wisdom of women.
- Engage in hands-on learning, integrating sustainability, permaculture, and ecological living.
The SHE-EDE Program is part of Gaia Education’s Ecovillage Design Education, an award-winning provider of holistic learning for sustainable development. In Nashira, we will integrate The Work that Reconnects, Transition Town principles, and Modern Matriarchal Studies, ensuring that participants gain practical skills and deep cultural insights.
