You don’t leave a Para behind.
Shayne isn’t just a mate. He’s one of us — a soldier, a brother, a British Paratrooper. We’ve trained together, shared laughs, bruises, and long days in the field.
Now he’s in the fight of his life facing cancer.
We can’t sit back and do nothing. So we’re doing what soldiers do: we’re pushing ourselves, harder than most would even try.
On the 22nd of july at 12:00
We’re running 2 miles every hour , on the hour, for 24 hours straight while carrying 37lbs in boots and combats.
That’s 48 miles. No sleep. No shortcuts. No backing out.
Finishing roughly at 12:30 on the 23rd of July
We’re doing it for Shayne — to show him and his family that they’re not alone in this.
Every mile is for him. Every step is to raise money to support Shayne and his loved ones during this brutal fight. Every blister, every ounce of sweat and fatigue is for him and his family.
We’re not asking for much. Just a bit of support.
Donate if you can. Share this if you care.
We’re going to carry on — until the final hour. For Shayne. For the fight. For the brotherhood.
Shayne is currently in the biggest fight of his life. Two years ago, Shayne was told he has a cyst on his testicle after years and months of back and forth to the doctors and being told he had bloating or possible Irritable Bowl Disorder.
Shayne has now recently found out that what he actually had is testicular cancer, which has now spread to his liver, kidney, pancreas, lung and brain from his testicle, he is now at Stage 4, but that hasn’t stopped him from battling with everything he has got. He refuses to be bed-bound and is showing relentless strength not just for himself, but to inspire others.
Shayne is a proud father of three — Ava (11), Indie (9), and Archie (7) — and a serving member of The Parachute Regiment. He’s a man of drive, heart, and adventure. Always spontaneous, never doing things by halves, and constantly pushing himself and others to be their best. He has served and completed two military tours for the country including the withdrawal of Afghanistan.
