Sharon Brown is not just my coworker—she’s become a dear friend since we first met at work. Both of us are in recovery, and I’ve watched Sharon work incredibly hard to turn her life around. She’s been sober for over two years, and just four months ago, she moved into her very first apartment. Things were finally looking up for her after a lifetime of challenges.

 But about seven months ago, Sharon started feeling unwell with a sore throat and ear pain that wouldn’t go away. Last week, after seeing a specialist, doctors found a mass in her throat and rushed her to the hospital. She’s had part of the mass removed, but now has a trach and a feeding tube, and has lost over 80% of the function in her throat and airway. Sharon can’t work, and with her family missing work to be by her side, she’s at risk of losing her home and everything she’s worked so hard for in her recovery.

 Right now, Sharon needs help with rent, bills, food, and electric. Her family also needs gas money to travel back and forth to the hospital. Any support you can give would mean the world to Sharon and her loved ones. Sharon is one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met—she would give the clothes off her back to help someone else.
