May 16, 2018 the day her life changed forever. The day she went to go see about her left breast (pain and swelling). Her doctor did an ultrasound and biopsy and confirmed 95% she had breast cancer and it was possibly stage 3 because of the inflammation, size of the tumor and lymph node involvement. My baby girl cried and cried. How could this happen to her? She’s active, young and healthy. Just goes to show you cancer has no bias, cancer doesn’t care who it affects. After several weeks of extensive testing, scans and blood work, it was definitely confirmed my daughter had a very rare form of inflammatory breast cancer (IBC). We also found out through genetic testing this is not hereditary and will not pass on to her 5 children, especially her 3 teenage daughters. That’s something to celebrate!!! She is currently receiving Chemo therapy, and in the next 4 months will undergo Surgery and radiation treatment in an attempt to eradicate this disease from her body. During this time, she is unable to work to provide for her family .
