<div>This past weekend was incredibly difficult for our family. On Thursday, May 15th, my boyfriend was in a car accident. Later that same day, as we were driving home after picking up our son from school, something unimaginable happened just a block from our house. Someone shot at our car while the four of us were inside. Thankfully, the kids and my boyfriend weren't hit, but I was shot in the head.

<div>It's truly heartbreaking because this is the kind of thing you see on the news and never think would happen to your own family. We are all traumatized and emotionally shaken right now. My boyfriend has been such a strong support for us, even while dealing with his own pain. I feel so incredibly blessed to be alive and am deeply grateful for our amazing support system. Thank you to everyone who has called to check on us every day.
