<div>Sergeant Sam Lilley of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is currently recovering from a duty accident at Regional One Medical Center. His motorcycle was hit by a vehicle when he was on his way to help another deputy. <strong>Sergeant Lilley’s life was saved with CPR on the scene, but he is still on life support and in a medical coma to help him heal. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him.</strong>

<div>Anyone who knows Sam will tell you he’s a man who will give you the shirt off his back. He is always there for a friend or a stranger with a kind word and a smile. As a deputy, he has taught a generation of young officers how to do their job with professionalism, kindness, and compassion.
