This March, my daughter Selah and I will travel to Puerto Rico to participate in a worship songwriting retreat hosted by the Worship Cooperative. This trip is more than just an opportunity to travel—it’s a chance for us to serve local churches and help unite worship leaders across Puerto Rico through the shared experience of writing original worship songs. Our hope is to support their community in capturing the unique sound and story that is emerging in their churches.
Selah will be working behind the scenes with hospitality, setup, and creative support, but she’ll also be co-writing songs alongside Puerto Rican worship leaders. She’s honored and excited to invest her time and creativity into something bigger than herself—helping a community of churches worship in their own voice. Watching Selah grow in her passion for worship and songwriting has been a joy, and it’s been amazing to see her co-write songs that are now being recorded and released. One of her favorite co-writes from a past retreat is coming out this week, and she’s made lasting friendships through these experiences.
This retreat will count as a field trip for our homeschool journey, providing Selah with valuable cultural awareness and hands-on songwriting experience. With meals and lodging covered, any funds raised will help with travel and other expenses, making it possible for Selah to continue learning and serving. We’re grateful for your support as she takes this next step in her creative and educational journey.
