<div>HELP SEAN BATTLE CANCER.   Less than two weeks ago, Sean considered himself in good health with no symptoms of being sick. He started to lose energy, couldn’t sleep, and lost more than ten pounds. Last Friday (6/20), he was scheduled for a test, which was at the St. Francis Hospital campus. When he arrived, he was so weak that after the test, he was immediately taken to the ER. Thankfully, I was already headed down and met him at the hospital. Our world was turned upside down when the doctor told us that Sean has multiple tumors in his lungs and liver. Of major concern is one mass in his lung that is more than 13 cm. We met Dr. Saad, who is now his oncologist, and Sean was admitted. Friday night, they did a brain scan, and Saturday we learned that he has 2 spots at the base of his brain. This is the area that can affect balance and speech; he has no symptoms, which is great. During his 3-day stay, and because his blood count was so low, he received 2 iron infusions, which have helped with his energy level. While definitely not normal, he is considerably better than when he was admitted.

<div>And now the battle begins. <strong>This is Stage 4 and aggressive.</strong> Sean will begin radiation (for the brain) and chemotherapy the week of July 7th. Next week, he will be fitted for a mask that he will wear during the radiation therapy. On the 7th, he will have a port put in for the chemo.

<div>The goal is to give Sean the best outcome for however long God grants him; we know HE is in control. <strong>Sean has two teenagers, Hope (14) and Dean (13).</strong> Since Hope and Dean were born, they have been front and center. Sean is a good dad and loves them with his whole being. As you can see in the pictures, wrestling is their thing, and Sean has taken them across the states for meets, thousands of trips to practice, and he is so proud of all the kids have accomplished.

<div>Sean currently doesn’t have health insurance; he will have some starting July 1st, but in the meantime, the bills are significant. He is applying for disability; however, it will be several months before he receives any money. Sean is a proud man and has been humbled by the outreach he has received.

<div>To that end, I am asking that if you can support him, no matter how large or small, he and the family will be beyond grateful. Any monies received will be used for his living expenses (mortgage, utilities, food) and medical. We are working with the hospital and doctors, and they are giving us time. Sean is liquidating what few assets he has.

<div>If you can't contribute, please pray for him and his children. This has come so fast and furious, and we are all trying to come to terms with everything. We are under no illusions, but we are praying for more time.

<div>I will be with Sean for his appointments and treatment as much as I can. And when the rare occasions I can’t be, his neighbor will step in. Matthew is now my newest son, and Sean considers him like a brother. We know angels are among us - Matthew is one of Sean’s. I live in Fort Wayne, which is a 2-1/2 hour drive. When necessary, I’ll stay in Indy, but at this point, I’m planning to commute.
