On July 28, a sudden, violent storm swept across Carters Lake in Georgia and changed everything for Sean Cunningham and his family. Sean had been out on the water when the weather turned with dangerous speed. During his final moments of contact, Sean called a friend and shared that he was taking refuge under a dock to wait out the fierce winds and heavy rain. Right after that update, Sean’s phone battery died. In the days since, search and rescue teams have worked tirelessly, but Sean remains missing. Authorities recovered Sean’s backpack near the water, while his canoe and other personal belongings have still not been found, leaving his loved ones in an agonizing limbo as they wait for answers. 
 
 
 This fundraiser will support Sean’s family, with funds benefiting his mother, Merrie Cunningham, as they stay near the lake and continue supporting ongoing search efforts. Donations will help cover hotel stays, search-related expenses, and ease the overall financial strain of time away from work and the many unexpected costs that come with a crisis like this. Sean is known by family and friends for his warmth, steady presence, and deep love for the outdoors. Right now, the Cunningham family needs their community more than ever.
