<div>On October 8th, our brother Scott was rushed to the hospital after suffering a ruptured aneurysm.  He was star-flighted to a larger level 4 trauma hospital for emergency surgery.  During that procedure, he had a stroke.

<div>Scott is a very hardworking man who worked as self employed contractor for most of his life.  He would never want to find himself in this position, but unfortunately, he is now facing major challenges ahead.  The stroke caused significant damage to the left side of his brain, leaving his right side limp and taking away his ability to speak.  Although he can understand what's being said to him, communication and movement are now extremely difficult.

<div>Scott has recently been moved to a nursing/rehab, which may last anywhere from two weeks to two months.  After that, he'll need to return home - but his home isn't currently prepped for his new needs.  We're doing everything we can to make sure he has the best possible chance at recovery, but without medical insurance and his income, this is incredibly hard both emotionally and financially.

<div>We're raising funds to make Scott's home safe and accessible - including things such as repairing his porch and adding a ramp, widening doorways and remodeling his bathroom to accommodate lifts and wheelchairs, and bedroom modifications for equipment needed.
