<div>On November 18th, my wife Gretta, only 43 years old, healthy, full of life, and joyfully preparing to welcome our new baby, tragically passed away shortly after giving birth. What should have been the happiest day of our lives became the day my entire world shattered.

<div>Gretta was everything to us. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the kind of person whose warmth and kindness made everyone around her feel seen and cared for. Our home was filled with her love.

<div>Now, our newborn son will never hear his mother’s voice, and our six year old is trying to understand why Mommy is not coming home. I am suddenly a widower, raising a newborn and a young child alone, while trying to survive grief, shock, and a reality I never saw coming.

<div>This loss was sudden and completely unexpected. We went to the hospital for what was supposed to be a routine induction. She was taken for delivery and she never came back. I am still struggling to comprehend how everything changed in a matter of hours.

<div>In the days since, I have been doing everything I can to hold life together for my boys. I am caring for a newborn, supporting a grieving six year old, making funeral arrangements, and trying to function through overwhelming heartbreak. At the same time, the financial weight of medical bills, funeral costs, childcare, housing, and everyday living expenses has become crushing. I am now the sole provider for my children, and I am doing my best, but I cannot do this alone.
