The Saturday Market has been setting up every Saturday, rain or shine, in downtown Eugene for the last 50 years. As the oldest open air craft market in the country, we are a vital small business incubator. We are proud of our long history of connecting artists and crafts people with their community.
COVID-19 has hit the artist community hard. So far, we missed 10 Market days in the spring. In order to open safely, we have less than half of our usual spaces available. Our fee structure for members is based on the minimum amount required to cover expenses. Without the full amount of booths, we are struggling to cover our costs. This means we may not be able to continue Saturday Market for the rest of this year, and we may not have the funds needed to open in 2021.
