Last June, my kids and I were evicted from our home of 7 years. My "partner" of 10 years left me out of nowhere, after not paying rent for 6 months.

An AMAZING friend of mine let us invade her small space for 4 months so we didn't end up on the street. I have had to give up beloved pets to foster homes as we look for affordable housing. Being homeless has eaten through my savings.

I am a full-time mom to my 17year-old, and my 22-year-old is looking for a job. I was working full-time (sometimes more than 40 hours) as a retail store manager, and I am a full-time student as well. I was let go in March, and they appealed my unemployment so that I was denied. I am appealing that decision, but I'm broke until that decision is made. Most organizations are out of funding, and rental applications cost money. I am just trying to stay off the street and raise enough for 1st, last, and security.
