I have started this gofundme page for a strong, proud, humble, loving and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Sam Strange. His wife Leslee, has been my best friend for 44 years.
Sam was recently diagnosed with stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma of the left lung and lymph node.
As someone who loves Sam dearly, it breaks my heart to see how medical bills, (even with health coverage) for his chemotherapy and radiation treatments are adding up. Sam is unable to work as he battles this disease.The costs that are incurring are quickly becoming more than the family can handle. Although Leslee is still working full time, this makes the costs of these treatments impossible for them to manage without help.
Sam is a very strong but quiet man. He has always been there to help others in their time of need. Sam's two best friends, Mark and Jim, both battled this same evil disease and sadly, it took both their lives.
Sam hosted a benefit for Jim and participated and contributed to both of his friends medical funds. Additionally, Sam and Leslee annually participate and donate to the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. Ironically, even though Sam will not ask for help, he needs it.
It is our turn to help a man that has never asked for anything, but freely gave everything he could, while watching his two best friends succumb to the same disease he is fighting now.
I know that the holidays are upon us, and money is tight for us all, but it is important to remember that we are healthy and we will have a wonderful holiday. Sam, on the other hand, is fighting for his life. Sam needs our help with the cost of ongoing cancer treatments. Could you find it in your hearts to help a wonderful man fight and beat cancer? Any help that you could provide towards the rising cost of treatments would be truly appreciated.
