<div>My beloved dog Rufus was recently diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. The cancer was discovered after an emergency splenectomy on June 19th in Los Angeles.

<div>We met with an oncologist at TruCare For Pets in Studio City, CA on July 3, where Rufus was very brave. After extensive testing, we were informed that <strong>unless we begin chemotherapy immediately, Rufus only has 4-5 more weeks to live.</strong>

<div>Rufus is an amazing, loving, and special boy who brings joy to so many lives. He greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail and a goofy, happy smile. He loves butt scratches, chicken, and just simply being along for the ride. He has been my best friend for the past 12 years.

<div>In January of 2013, I adopted Rufus from the South Central Animal Shelter in Downey, CA. He had been abandoned at just under 1 year old. When I first saw Rufus, he put his paw through the bars of his cage into my hand, and I knew he was mine. Since then, we have been inseparable. Rufus has been the one constant in my life. We have traveled across the country together, lived in many different places, and had many adventures. I know that we still have more, if only I can get him the treatment he deserves.

<div>Rufus's veterinary team has put together a detailed treatment plan that will extend his life expectancy. The treatment has few side effects for the majority of dogs, and the details of this plan are available upon request. An extensive breakdown of the cost of care is available upon request as well. His emergency splenectomy and tests so far have been financially challenging, but he is worth every penny.
