Hey Everyone,

Yesterday, we lost "Roy Bucks" (alias Don Goddard).

Friend, brother, uncle, step-dad, husband, and partner... Our hearts are completely broken.

He was a remarkable person—a talented musician, a compassionate dad, a patient sage and mentor, and a self-described barnmaster, horse whisperer, and trainer alongside his love, Shawny. He was so much more than words can capture. Roy had a deep love for Hawaii and lived with passion, kindness, humility, laughter, and gratitude... even on the hard days.

Music was his sanctuary. As was art. He was cooler than cool—and he knew it. A storyteller of countless adventures, his sage life was told with a sly wink that let you know the love and respect he had for you in his heart. In those moments, you could feel the warmth, ethos, genius, and authenticity hidden within him.

Right now, we’re facing the costs of giving him the dignified farewell he deserves. We’re hoping to have him cremated so he can remain forever on The Big Island. If you can contribute anything—anything at all—it would mean the world to our family during this difficult time.

Roy (Don) touched so many lives with his music, wit, and genuine heart. He left us far too soon. Help us honor him in the best way we can. Thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
