Help Roxy Fight Cancer

Hi everyone,

Jesse Raposa here. My father, Roxy Raposa, was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in June of 2017. In July we learned he has stage 4 cancer, and things haven't slowed down since.

My dad is receiving his cancer care at MD Anderson in Houston, TX , and they have been amazing to him thus far. He continues to undergo testing and many different procedures, such as a tracheostomy and feeding tube, to work toward a treatment plan. His oncology team are thinking he will need an aggressive combination of chemo and radiation therapy.

In the meantime he is unable to work, so he does not have much income. He is spending a lot of money on bills, gas, hotel stays, many other medical expenses, and he will need to purchase formula and supplies for his new feeding tube and other things in the near future.

We are asking for your support at this time and throughout my dad's journey to ensure he can rest easy with a cushion during these very hard times. These funds would be put toward:

-medical bills/supplies
-formula for his feeding tube
-gas
-hotels
-therapies
-home health
-in-home caregivers (if needed)
-income while out of work
-other medically-necessary expenses as they arise
-travel expenses so that I can be by my dad's side as needed

My partner, James Calver, has been here helping us in the early stages of this process, but he will need to head home soon. My job is being incredibly supportive about my need to spend some time in TX, but I too must head back to Oregon soon to hold down the fort there. So, we anticipate more help will be needed to get my dad to and from his appointments until he begins treatments closer to home. Clearly, money isn't the only support he'll need.
