<div>Hello, my name is Rosa Piña, I am a Registered Nurse at Long Beach Comprehensive Health Center in Long Beach.  <strong>I met with patient Pablo Hernandez  Marrtinez  when he came to our Urgent Care Clinic on Monday 11/17/2025, due having a cough and shortness of breath.</strong> He agreed to give me permission to share his story and his struggles since being diagnosed with an incurable lung condition called Pneumoconiosis.  This condition causes shortness of breath, cough and scarring of the lungs and it will  only get worse as time goes by. He is on oxygen, and the amount of liters he gets to make sure he is breathing properly has doubled since he was in the emergency room on Saturday, 11/15/25. <strong>He is 55 years old, cannot work anymore, and does not have disability insurance .</strong> He cannot work due to his lung disease, which was caused by his employment in a textile factory that did not provide his employees with proper respiratory protection. He is not a candidate for a lung transplant due to lack of financial and social support.  He has to be follwed up by cardiology, pulmonary, ophthalmology and primary care.

<div>He is very humble. He is asking for help with his monthly bills.  HE has no where else to live and has to pay for his portion of the rent with his roommates. He can’t walk more than 20 steps without getting short of breath and fatogued.  <strong>I’m asking for help for him. He is very humble but he is very sick and needs help with his monthly bills.  Any amount you can give him will be greatly appreciated.  </strong>
