<div>Hello, my name is Kira, and on November 5, 2025, my baby girl Rome was born with unexpected medical challenges. After many long weeks of waiting for answers—and a surgery to place a G-tube—we finally began to understand what was going on. While this journey will not be easy, Rome is already showing us how strong she is, and she is deeply loved by so many. We know we will get through this together.

<div>Genetic testing revealed that Rome has a rare genetic condition called Cri du Chat (Cry of the Cat) syndrome, which can cause a wide range of developmental and medical challenges that will become clearer as she grows. In addition, she has a duplication of chromosome 7, which brings its own set of unknowns and potential complications. This diagnosis has changed the course of our lives, and we are learning day by day what it means for Rome’s future.

<div>I am a single mother with two very young children, with Rome’s sibling being just 364 days older than her. While I am determined to give both of my children everything they need, this season will be incredibly demanding. Rome currently relies on a G-tube and will need ongoing medical supplies, future adaptive equipment, and specialized care to help her navigate daily life.

<div>I created this GoFundMe because of the significant travel and related expenses we now face. Rome requires frequent care at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is about a 5-hour drive one way. I do not have a vehicle of my own and must rely on the generosity of others for transportation. Funds raised will help cover gas, lodging, and travel costs, as well as assist with medical and feeding supplies Rome will need along the way.
