My name is Russell Majerus, and I am Romee's father. Romee was born with congenital heart disease called ebsteins anomaly, she has had multiple open heart surgeries one when she was 8 days old and another at only 9 months old. Romees most recent surgery was an open heart surgery to repair tricuspid valve, which snowballed into a pacemaker surgery, a tricuspid valve removal which had to be repaired with a melody valve, has been on life support ecmo, dialysis, constant fungal and bacterial sepsis and most recently a pacemaker surgery which came up positive for another fungal colonization. She has battled sickness recently noravirus and actively battling the flu. Everytime we get a glimmer of hope, something's right there to knock her down. She has been able to overcome so much, and yet has so much more to overcome. Every time we think we are headed home or in the right direction, there's a pitfall. We have been in the hospital going on 7 months. This is Romee's second hospital stay; she has nearly been in the hospital longer than she's been alive. We unfortunately do not know when we are headed home or how long we will be at the hospital. Tory Majerus (mom) and I have uprooted our lives so we can be with Romee in Seattle, which is 300 miles from where we reside. We have both drained our bank accounts and our savings and have barely been able to work to be by our little girl's side to get her stronger and to be able to advocate for her. The cost of food, lodging, transportation, and medical expenses, as well as my other children's needs and bills for my household in Kelso, has far outweighed anything that I, being the breadwinner, can make. This is extremely humbling for me to continue to ask anyone for help, but I must lay down my pride for my family. Please share if you can't donate, and I want to thank everyone who has supported us along this emotional rollercoaster. God has a plan for Romee, and with your prayers and help, someday she will come home.
