<div>As some of you know, my dad, Rolando, has been battling a rare liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), which over time led to liver failure. This illness isn’t something he caused—it’s a slow, progressive, and genetic disease that has changed our lives, but not his heart or his faith. This disease is aggressive, and the only known cure is a transplant.

<div>After a long journey filled with prayers, waiting, and resilience, we’re so grateful to share that he’s finally been approved for a life-saving liver transplant. The surgery and recovery will take place in Houston, where he will need to remain for the next 4–5 months for close medical supervision and healing (3 months outside of the hospital). Unfortunately, we are 6 hours away from Houston, and my mom will need to relocate during this recovery process. My sister and I will be traveling constantly to provide support to both of our parents.

He treasures every moment with his family and is fighting with everything he has to keep spending time with his wife Yolanda, daughter Jackie, son Josue, daughter-in-law Monique, and his precious granddaughter Olivia, with whom he still hopes to make beautiful memories.

<div>Como algunos de ustedes saben, mi papá, Rolando, ha estado luchando contra una rara enfermedad hepática llamada Colangitis Esclerosante Primaria (PSC), que con el tiempo causó una falla hepática. Esta enfermedad no fue causada por él—es una condición progresiva, lenta y genética que ha cambiado nuestras vidas, pero no su corazón ni su fe. Es una enfermedad agresiva, y el único tratamiento conocido es un trasplante.

<div>Después de un largo camino lleno de oraciones, espera y resiliencia, estamos profundamente agradecidos de compartir que por fin ha sido aprobado para un trasplante de hígado que le salvará la vida. La cirugía y el proceso de recuperación se llevarán a cabo en Houston, donde deberá permanecer durante los próximos 4–5 meses bajo estricta supervisión médica (al menos 3 meses fuera del hospital). Lamentablemente, estamos a 6 horas de Houston, y mi mamá tendrá que reubicarse durante este tiempo. Mi hermana y yo estaremos viajando constantemente para apoyar a ambos.
