<div>This fundraiser is for <strong>my parents</strong> during an incredibly difficult time. Last August, my dad, <strong>Roger</strong>, was diagnosed with a rare Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma called Mantle Cell Lymphoma. At first, it was considered an indolent cancer, and doctors were able to take a watch-and-wait approach. Since then, it has progressed, and doctors are now discussing starting treatment soon because the cancer has grown. Right now, bills are piling up, and my dad is unable to work. With so much changing all at once, the financial pressure on both of them continues to grow. Since retiring, Roger has enjoyed painting and making laser signs for  my parent’s business, Allure Laser &amp; Design, but that has become increasingly hard with the amount of stress he has been under. They have always been the kind of parents who put their family first, making sure my sister, brother, and I never went without, even when it meant they did. I want to help give them some peace of mind now, just like they have always given to us.

<div> Funds from this fundraiser will help cover the mortgage, utilities, gas, and travel expenses for treatment at UNMC. Because these needs continue over time while Roger is unable to work and treatment is beginning, ongoing support can make a real difference in helping them keep up with essential monthly bills and the repeated cost of getting to appointments. I am asking for support for parents who have always been there for others, especially Roger, who has always been quick to lend a hand, patiently teach what he knows, and help anyone in need.
