<div>My best friend René has been hospitalized because of renal failure due to nephrotic syndrome and diabetic complications. It caused edema in his legs which made it hard to walk and raised his cholesterol and blood pressure to dangerous levels. Now he needs to see medical professionals of nephrology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, physical therapy, and orthopedics as well as his primary care pretty often. God healed his mind and soul and now it’s time to take care of the body.

<div>The nephrologist said today that he will need a kidney transplant within the next five years and that all the treatments he’s undergoing is to delay the decline of the kidneys before dialysis or transplant. The waiting list for a harvested organ donor is 5-6 years. He suggested finding a living donor.

<div>He’s going to be totally healed nonetheless, but he needs financial support now to recover while not being cleared to go back to work. He’s already missed two weeks due to hospitalization and appointments.
