<div>As some of you already know, the last year has been full of big things for me. Many of them have been very difficult.

<div>Despite facing some big challenges, I have done my best to contribute to things like mutual aid and community care when I have been able to. I have also done my best to ask for support during my emergencies in ways outside of asking for money. I know that is a tough thing for a lot of folks right now.

<div>I had emergency spinal surgery at the end of March. That wiped out the money I had saved. I went back to work at 4 weeks post-op because I could not afford to be out of work.
</div>

<div><strong>On August 25th, I was struggling to breathe, it felt like my chest was collapsing, the fatigue was so bad I felt like I was dragging myself through wet concrete, and I had pretty intense brain fog.</strong> I spoke to my doctor's office; they were alarmed to hear of my symptoms and got me an appointment that day.

<div>Between now and then, I missed about 2 weeks of work. During that time, I underwent extensive medical testing.
</div>

</div>
<div>My blood tests were showing all kinds of strange results—high antibodies, high red blood count, but the red blood cells themselves were smaller and paler than they should be. I had chest x-rays done, EKG, ECG, CT scan of my chest, pulmonary function testing; they even did a stress test where they hooked electrodes to me to measure my heart function while I was on a treadmill.

<div>The good news is that my heart is functioning very well, my doctor and I were able to figure out the cause of my symptoms, and I am currently on the mend. (I cannot speak about the cause just yet, as there are currently a few factors in play with that situation.) 
</div>

<div><strong>The bad news is the financial impact of these medical emergencies has now caused me housing insecurity. I need help raising enough money to relocate by Nov 1st.</strong>
