Support Rebecka Dunn's Cancer Battle

Hello, my name is Vanessa Gibson, I’m trying to raise money for my oldest sister, Rebecka Dunn. A little over a year ago she was diagnosed with rectal/colon cancer. She underwent surgery and chemo and radiation thinking it was all gone, but she never really felt back to normal so after months of dealing with doctors in our area, she was finally able to get in at UAB University of Birmingham! The doctors there did exploratory surgery and found that the cancer was not gone. In fact it was worse than originally thought. With that being said, she is set to have surgery to try and fix what the cancer has attached to an eaten up. The surgery itself is 10 to 12 hours. She has to have a permanent colostomy, a full hysterectomy and reconstruction. They will have to take skin from her inner thighs for the reconstruction. We have been told that insurance is not going to cover any of the surgery. Her husband just lost his mom due to cancer, and we also just lost our uncle. Her husband has had to miss a lot of work for the funeral and her surgeries. Overall, the family has been struggling and facing a lot of challenges due to the loss of income and medical bills. Our mother has also had to be out of work a lot to beable to help with doctors appointment and moral support. She will be in the hospital at least 2 weeks and will have to have 24/7 care. The surgery will be two hours away from home. We are asking for help for the amenities that are needed to help take care of her for the two weeks that she is in the hospital.. some of the things that will be needed is money for parking lodging and food.
