Update: Surgery/hysterectomy took 45 minutes and the doctor said he got everything and the organs removed looked good. Waiting on follow up appointment and pathology now.

In late July, Air Force Veteran Raynell Cooper Turner was diagnosed with uterine cancer. As of December 18th the results from CT scan of chest, abdomen and pelvis were UNREMARKABLE.

Radiography read normal, no metastasis , no visible cancer/cells seen. Chemo/immunotherapy seems to have did what it was supposed to do. She had a PET scan scheduled on Dec 24 for further confirmation of treatment. On NYE results came back and she’ll have to have at least 3 more rounds of chemo/immunotherapy.

Throughout this cancer journey Raynell’s job has been secure however without short term disability and not much savings (in light of surviving and rebuilding after multiple hurricanes) bills from ongoing oncologist visits, scans, and chemo/immunotherapy treatments continue to accumulate.

Asking for help is uncomfortable. It’s atypical for veterans because of military culture. However, this veteran and her husband (also an Air Force veteran) could use help with tackling the medical debt that has accrued as a result of beating cancer.
