Support Randy Schamber's Funeral Costs

Dear friends and family,

At 3:30 a.m. this morning, Strasburg Waver, Randy Schamber went to his eternal resting place with Jesus. He passed away in the care of Hospice & Community Care at their facility in Mount Joy PA. I was grateful to be able to visit with him last evening, but even more grateful that his family and a couple close friends were by his side as well. While we are saddened by the passing of Randy, we know that he is no longer suffering, and is looking down at us from heaven, waving with his best buddy Tony, who has since passed on as well.

As many of you already know, Randy was a very important part of our community over the years. Alongside of Tony, he would sit along Strasburg Pike and wave at all of us, as the two came up with the plan together to sit in front of the lot between their residences and wave to everyone passing by. And I mean EVERYONE! They would smile and laugh, point and shout, test out different waves, and brighten everyone's days. I had many a day where they brightened my day before I even got to know Randy. I know that you all have felt that too as you drove by and "Beeped for the Wavers."

As Randy's family and friends navigate this difficult time transitioning to a life without Randy in it, we are reaching out to ask for your support in covering the costs of Randy's funeral arrangements. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they are facing financial challenges in providing him with the proper send-off he deserves.
