I am Sherry Shackelford and I started this Go Fund Me for some very dear friends of mine, Randy and Melissa Ashford. I went to school with Randy and have been in touch with him off and on over the years.

He is one of the most caring people that I know along with his wife Melissa.

Randy has recently been diagnosed with Lung Cancer, He had been having a lot of tests done when they found a mass on his lung. The 18th of November he had a biopsy that confirmed it was cancer. They are getting ready to start Chemotherapy and Radiation on Randy and to make matters worse his wife Melissa just lost her job due to cutbacks at her workplace. They need our help financially for gas to get back and forth to his treatments in Springfield, Mo. and help with bills at this time (any amount that you can send would be a blessing for them) and though prayer, we have an awesome God who hears our prayers and provides help and healing.

Randy's first consultation is on the 16th of December for the chemo and the 19th of December for the radiation! I will know more after his appointments.

UPDATE FROM RANDY....

Chemo doctor said they will have a start date after I see the radiation doctor Thursday to set up treatment plan she said they would probably start it the very first of the year since the holidays are so close

The way they talked I will do radiation 5 days a week and one of those days I will have to do chemo on top of radiation for I believe they said 7 weeks.

Chemo doctor told me it was stage 2 thank you Jesus
