Rahlo has been through a lot in his life -- surviving extreme neglect, successfully graduating from "prison school," beating heartworms, making multiple cross-country moves, and being a true emotional support animal since the day of his adoption. He has a way of making everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him fall in love immediately, even convincing a few to rescue a dog (or two) of their own.

During a recent vet visit, an ultrasound found that his spleen is very enlarged, so much so that it is displacing other organs and affecting his energy levels, movement, and cognition. Because of the severity, the only treatment option is removal, which comes with a $2000 price tag. While no surgery is without risk, Rahlo has shown us over and over that he doesn't give up easily, so we won't either.
