Support Racial Justice & Health Equity (21 for 21)

Donation protected
Hello Friends and Family!

I hope that from wherever you are reading this, you are safe and healthy, taking care of yourselves and those around you. We are at a particularly difficult moment in which we as a community face a plethora of uncertainties, injustices, and widespread fear and anxieties pertaining to what has been deemed a Double Pandemic: two deadly viruses killing Americans, one called COVID-19 and the other the deeply rooted and ever-present plague of racism.

My 21st birthday is coming up in two weeks, on June 18th. I hope to take this opportunity for what would have been a celebration and transform it into something even more worthy of celebration: a fundraiser to support those in need right now.

I have set an ambitious goal of raising $2100. Whether or not this goal is reached is not so much important as where these funds will end up: in the hands of organizations fighting on the frontlines of racial justice as well as health equity (which is especially critical during this time). Whatever money is raised will be channeled to such organizations, depending on their needs at the time. Some of these include: The American Civil Liberties Union, The Advancement Project, The Black LGBTQIA Migrant Project, The Black Mental Health Alliance, and The Lowell Community Health Center COVID19 Fund.

I know many of you have already donated to a variety of organizations, and for that I thank you and offer my sincere appreciation for your commitment to social justice. If you are at all able to make a contribution to this fund, no matter the amount ($5 makes a difference) I will be extremely grateful. If you would prefer to donate through Venmo, please feel free to do so and do let me know if you'd like to keep your donation anonymous (username: @Connor-Griffiths-1). I will put the Venmo donations toward this fund as well. Please continue sharing resources, speaking out against injustice, educating yourself and others, and most importantly, supporting one another. See the links below for more resources and ways you can help.

Thank you, and looking forward to making this a birthday to remember with you all.

-Connor

P.S. I know that fundraising websites like this do charge a fee on donations (2.9% of each donation + $0.30/donation), however I thought this would be the best way to keep this effort organized. I want to ensure that this does not deter you from donating, so I am pledging to contribute whatever that total amount ends up being ([2.9% x Total]) + [$0.30 x Total # of GoFundMe Donations]) up to my goal to ensure that all of your contributions make it to the organizations outlined above. If you are able to make donations through Venmo (@Connor-Griffiths-1), no fee will be charged.
