<div>Hi! My name is Rachel, and I have decided to start working in missions!In September, I am planning to attend a Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission.

<div>	Over the past 45 years, thousands of students have been trained through DTS, and most of them would say that it is one of the most significant experiences of their lives. The DTS is an intensive Christian training course that consists of a three-month classroom/lecture phase followed by a 2-3 month international outreach into areas of the world that have little or no Christian influence. The exact location of the outreach has not been decided and will be decided at the end of the lecture phase. The DTS aims to encourage students to develop personal character and to cultivate a living relationship with God and identify their unique gifts and callings. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are especially emphasized through the DTS, preparing students to reach the current and future generations.

<div>	I am specifically going to be involved in YWAM Emerge. While YWAM's overall mission is to mobilize young people to spread the gospel globally, YWAM Emerge narrows its focus to addressing food insecurity and equipping communities with sustainable solutions using aquaponics. Emerge specializes in designing, building, and teaching others how to operate aquaponics systems, which combine aquaculture (raising fish) and hydroponics (growing plants without soil).
