My name is Kayti. I'm hoping to raise funds for my friend Rachel Huelsmann. Rachel is a Nurse, Wife, and a Mother. I first met her as a coworker at Clinton Manor, and we have crossed paths since then. She is kind, and as a Nurse, has spent her career helping others and pouring her knowledge, skills, and time into Patients and Residents to help and support them in any way she can.

That's what a Nurse is. Nursing is not what we do, it is who we are. Nurses are givers, servers, fixers, helpers, and are often selfless when it comes to advocating for those who need us. And if you know a Nurse, you know we often don't seek out help when WE need it. I'm starting this page on Rachel's behalf. She recently broke her ankle. She was sent home in a boot and is currently off work. When I went over to her house to help out, we found a red warm spot around her break. I had to tell her the words no Nurse wants to hear, " You need to go to the ER". Thankfully, she went and she was admitted and has since then, has had surgery on her ankle. While she received the treatment she needed, she is now out of work for much longer than expected. As most nurses, Rachel has to be able to walk to practice as a Nurse and she is currently unable to do so. Currently, it is looking like she will be out of work until December, and could possibly lose her health insurance. Her health insurance is crucial as her Daughter receives injections that her well being and health depend on. Without insurance, her daughter can not receive this injection. Rachel's injury not affects herself but her family as well. My goal is to raise funds to help Rachel and her family continue their medical benefits, help pay medical bills, and makes this stressful and unfortunate event a little easier to bear mentally and emotionally. As Rachel as given many years giving to others, I'm hoping others will give to help support her family.
