She is truly irreplaceable- the type of parent I admire, the type of activist I want to be, and the type of friend I am so lucky to have found. In any other timeline, Rachel would be the one organizing to help someone else because that is who she is.

<div>As parents, we all love our kids, and we all say we will do anything it takes to keep our kids safe and make sure they grow up loved and affirmed. This is now Rachel and Frank's reality- they have had to make incredibly hard choices to protect their family, and it is coming at a devastating financial cost, which is on top of the mental and emotional difficulty involved with fleeing your country because it is no longer safe for your kid.

<div>Rachel and Frank have this amazing, badass, artistic, smart, funny daughter, and they are packing up their lives and headed out of the US because to stay is to risk the safety and future of Libby and their family. I hope you read Rachel's words and if you can give any amount to help them with this massive move, please do.

<div><strong>From Rachel: "To love and protect my family in a country that actively persecutes trans people, we are moving out of the country. The kids and I are being forced to leave our community and the people we love. It has not been easy to make the decision, and it will not be easy for our family. We are the lucky ones because even though it will be hard, we can do it.</strong>

<div><strong>Whether you’ve met us at community meetings, at state legislative hearings, in the halls of Congress, or in any of the other spaces we’ve joined together to speak out, you know our family doesn’t back down.  Our daughter Libby has been speaking out for trans kids like her since 2017 – more than half her life.  But there is a point where it becomes impossible to fight for the safety of my trans child without compromising the safety of all my children – and we’ve reached that point. With medical care prohibited, recreational activities prohibited, identity documents designed to make things more dangerous, and the ongoing rumors of targeted action by a vengeful state officials, we are leaving.</strong>

<div><strong>We are leaving so my youngest doesn’t have nightmares about his parents being arrested for “child abuse” for providing gender-affirming care. We are leaving so my middle child can use her amazing gifts of leadership for many causes, not just to defend her sister’s right to exist. And we are leaving so my oldest can live her authentic life without fear. By removing ourselves from our government’s crosshairs, we hope to replace stress and rage with space for what life looks like when you don’t live in constant fear. </strong>
