On March 24th, Puma, our 8lbs chihuahua, was attacked and shaken by a large dog being fostered in our home. We rushed her to the emergency vet where she spent an entire day being treated for her multiple bite wounds, internal injuries, and a concussive spinal injury.
We authorized vets to do anything they needed to do to save Puma, and are incredibly grateful for all they did, but it also added up to a hefty bill. For her emergency visit that included hospitalization, x-rays, sedation, wound care, and much more the total was over $2,000. The cost continues to add up as she receives regular follow up care from vets.
She is on mandatory crate rest for 4-6 weeks and currently needs around the clock supervision and support. If you have anything to spare to contribute to these high vet bills, we would be eternally grateful.
