<div><strong>Priscila Alvares Pereira Dos Santos gave her life saving a 9-year-old Brazilian-American girl from drowning in the Delaware River near Delran, New Jersey.</strong>

<div>On the afternoon of August 24, Priscila saw the young girl struggling in the water and went in to save her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She reached the child and helped push her toward shore, where others were able to pull the girl safely from the river.
</div>

<div><strong>The little girl survived. Priscila did not.</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>After an extensive search, Priscila's body was recovered the following morning, August 25 — <strong>what would have been her 34th birthday.</strong>
</div>

<div>She leaves behind her husband, Alex, and their two children, just 9 and 3 years old.
</div>

</div>
<div>In a matter of moments, Alex lost his wife and partner, and two young children lost their mother.
</div>

</div>
<div>What Priscila did in the final moments of her life was extraordinary. But to those who knew her, her instinct to help someone else was entirely consistent with the woman she had always been.

<div>Priscila was a devoted mother and wife, a woman of faith, a loyal friend and someone who worked incredibly hard for her family.
</div>

<div>Originally from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, she came to the United States approximately five years ago determined to build a better future for her children. She cleaned homes for a living and worked hard alongside Alex to build a life for their family in New Jersey.

<div><strong>Her children were the center of her world.</strong>

<div>Friends remember Priscila as joyful, strong and generous — someone who was always ready to help, whether through her words, her time or her actions. She loved taking her children out and watching them enjoy parks, beaches, lakes and the simple moments they shared together.

<div><strong>Their youngest child is 3 years old, autistic and currently non-speaking. Priscila played a central role in his daily care, communication support and routine. Her loss leaves Alex not only grieving his wife and raising two children alone, but also taking on the additional responsibility of supporting a young autistic child with significant developmental and care needs.</strong>

<div>Alex now faces an unimaginable reality: grieving his wife while becoming the sole parent and provider for their two young children.

<div>He was unable to work throughout the search and immediate aftermath of the tragedy, and the family now faces funeral expenses, lost income, childcare needs and the much larger challenge of building a stable future for two children growing up without their mother.
