Support Peggy & John

Our dear friend Peggy and her newly wedded husband John Foster, recently found out some devastating news. On September 24th John had a seizure and was rushed to Belleville Hospital where after many tests he was told that he had a brain tumour that needed to be operated on as soon as possible. With less than a month until their wedding date, John prepared for surgery with strength, courage and his best friend and partner in crime by his side. On October 4th, John made it through the surgery, but was told not all of the tumour could be reached. He also had a second tumour in the left hemisphere that was inoperable. John was advised that he would need to begin chemotherapy and radiation once he was healed from surgery.

Days following, Peggy and John had an appointment to receive the results of the tumour biopsy. The results are heartbreaking as John has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma which is a terminal and aggressive type of brain cancer. They were told by their physician that only 27% survive the 2 year mark, and that best case scenario, the 2 would only have 4-5 years together. Not only are John and Peggy trying to comprehend this news, but John continues to face battles, such as blood clots in his lungs, as well as some continued seizures.

Realizing that time is of the essence, the two were married and had a beautiful ceremony on the front porch with their family. Peggy has put work on hold so that she can spend as much quality time with John as possible and care for him. I’d like to ask everyone and anyone who can help donate as little or as much as they can to help this wonderful couple in their time of need. Your help will help alleviate some of the additional financial stressors they are facing in this very difficult time. John’s health and each other should be their priority. Concern about how they will cover gas bills, parking fees, grocery costs, winter tires etc. with their reduced incomes is an additional load they are carrying. Peggy is one of the kindest most giving people in this world. She is trying so hard to be optimistic and to accept the hand they have been dealt.
