<div>Meet Pearl: the friendliest, funniest, bravest little angel who happened to be born with what a surgeon called "the smallest nostrils I've ever seen in my career". We adopted Pearl from a shelter about two years ago after she was rescued from a backyard breeding situation, and they told us at the time that she had a little cold. Shortly after she arrived we realized it wasn't just a cold, she has pinhole-sized nostrils that make it extremely difficult for her to breathe. We've had flat-faced cats before, but none with features so extreme that they had this kind of discomfort.

<div>We learned Pearl has Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome and started to look into getting her surgery to make her life easier. Pearl has insurance, but after months of back and forth they confirmed they will not cover her procedure because her difficulty is caused by a pre-existing condition. The estimate we were given by the animal hospital ranges between $4,500 and $6,500 which, despite having a handful of jobs between us, is not achievable on our own right now. Pearl's breathing has been even more labored as of late, and she wants to zoom around and play so much more than her body will allow.

<div>We know everyone is so broke right now and ultimately this is a nose job for a cat...! But it would mean so much to us to be able to give Pearl a more comfortable, happy, fun, and hopefully long life. We're so grateful for any help getting her there.
