<div><strong>Paul Mann is a hardworking family man who is always there to help anyone in need.</strong> He is a passionate and caring human who has a zest for life! The one thing he loves most is spending time with and around his family, whom he loves fiercely. If you know Paul, you know that he loves being productive, always working on a project on his property, which he takes pride in. He literally is always doing the heavy lifting. At this time, he needs all of us to do the heavy lifting now.

<div>On July 29, Dad was taken down by Pneumococcal Meningitis, a virulent infection of the brain and spinal cord. He was transported via ambulance to Peace Health in Vancouver, WA. This infection caused multiple strokes and seizures, and he was placed in a medically induced coma. When he woke, he heard my mom’s voice and cried. Today, he is learning to make connections with his left arm and leg for movement. He is definitely making daily progress and is determined to walk! As he said to Mom, “I can’t wait to walk hand in hand together down the beach.”

<div>Dad will be moved to Salmon Creek Post Acute and Rehabilitation in the next couple of days. The road to recovery will be long and will challenge his mind and body. Dad has a strong spirit and he is up for the challenge! Whatever it takes to get home, he is willing to do the work and be a yes!

<div>Before Dad can come home, extensive modifications need to be made to Mom and Dad’s home to ensure his needs are met. The back concrete ramp entry to the house, a bathroom remodel including plumbing, a shower insert, toilet, sink, grab rails, and other needs that may arise. Most importantly, is the need to have mini splits installed throughout the house. My parents have always split, stacked, and used wood to heat their home. This just isn’t sustainable anymore. <strong>The goal is to make their home accessible and as safe as possible so we can transition him home.</strong>
