Support Paulette Smith During Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sarah. I’m the daughter of Paulette Smith. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting my mother you’d know how much of a Strong, Supportive & Selfless Mother & Friend she is. Regardless of any awful situation thrown our way (and there have been a lot) she has faced it head on & always put everyone else’s needs first. Now, she’s the one who needs the support.
In November of 2022, Paulette went to the doctor for double vision, painful migraines, depth reception problems (constantly breaking toes, fingers and falling), and memory issues. After conducting a CT head scan, they found a tumor on her brain. Thankfully, the doctor assured us it was most likely benign but they would need to keep tracking it, in case.
In early June of 2023, she went in for a routine follow up CT & MRI, to track the tumor & they found a large aneurysm on her brain. She met with Doctors at Danville Neuro and they determined that the aneurysm was large enough to be a cause for concern & explained surgery was the best option. They also informed us that if it was left untreated, it could rupture & the repercussions could be fatal. They scheduled her for an emergency open brain surgery on September 5th, 2023 to clip the aneurysm.
The Surgery will come with many risks & include a partial craniotomy. She will be recovering in the Danville ICU & 3-6 weeks at home with assistance.
I’m making this to help cover medical bills and prepare for any/all possible obstacles we may face together. Thank you all for the love, support and PRAYERS we will need on this journey.
