<div>As some of you may know, the doctors have diagnosed Dad, Paul Hatcher, with MDS (myelodysplastic syndromes) that has high-risk cytogenetic markers; this condition is expected to transform into leukemia soon. MDS is a group of disorders in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough healthy red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets, and it is considered a type of blood cancer. Therefore, the doctors have scheduled a bone marrow/stem cell transplant for him.
</div>
<div>Dad is in the pre-therapy phase, where he is going through numerous exams, evaluations, and chemotherapy and learning about various future procedures and resources.
</div>
<div>The hospital will admit him at the end of July, and he will stay there for a month after the transplant. 
</div>
<div>Dad and Mom are required to move and live 15 minutes from the hospital; if all goes well, they will need to stay until November. 
</div>

</div>
<div><strong>This process has been, and it will continue to be, extremely costly, as you can imagine. For this reason, we’re hosting a fundraiser to help cover treatment expenses and other related costs.</strong>

<div>Please, remember them in your prayers, asking God for 100% recovery for Dad, for Mom, who is the primary caregiver, and for Michelle, who is the secondary caregiver.

<div>Prezados familiares e amigos,

<div>Como alguns de vocês devem saber, o meu pai, Paulo Hatcher, foi diagnosticado com SMD (síndromes mielodisplásicas) com marcadores citogenéticos de alto risco que indicam uma transformação para leucemia em pouco tempo. A SMD é um grupo de doenças em que a medula óssea não consegue produzir glóbulos vermelhos, glóbulos brancos, ou plaquetas saudáveis em quantidade suficiente, sendo considerada um câncer no sangue. Consequentemente, os médicos agendaram um transplante de medula óssea/célula-tronco para ele.

<div>O pastor Paulo está na fase de pré-terapia, onde está passando por inúmeros exames, avaliações e quimioterapia e aprendendo sobre vários procedimentos e informações.
</div>
<div>Ele será internado no final de Julho, onde permanecera até um mês pós transplante.
</div>
<div>Meu pai e minha mãe terão que se mudar para ficar a dentro de 15 minutos do hospital. Se tudo correr bem, eles terão que morar lá até Novembro. 
</div>

<div>Este processo tem sido, e continuará sendo, extremamente custoso, como vocês podem imaginar. Por esse motivo, estamos arrecadando fundos para ajudar com as despesas do tratamento e tudo mais que envolverá esse processo.
