<div>In June, I was diagnosed with <strong>decompensated cirrhosis of the liver</strong>, a serious condition that has progressed far more quickly than anyone expected. Since my diagnosis, I’ve faced multiple hospital stays and ongoing health challenges as my medical team works to manage my symptoms and prepare me for what’s ahead.

<div>I am now in need of a liver transplant, and I have just recently met with the liver transplant team at Massachusetts General Hospital to begin the evaluation and transplant process.

<div>While I’ve been doing my best to continue working, my health is declining, and I fear that being able to work full-time—or at all—may soon come to an end. The financial impact of my illness has already been significant, and I’m now facing additional unexpected expenses and the need to plan for my family’s well-being in the coming months. <strong>The unknown is scary.</strong>
