Support Our Women's Dance Temple!

We are fundraising to keep our women's dance community's long-time home, Temple Dara in Oakland, CA. Heather Munro Pierce, our incredible, spirited and devoted teacher, has been leading women's dance in our beloved Temple Dara since 2000!

Unfortunately, the building was sold this year and the new owners are tripling the rent in 2023. Heather and Temple Dara have been part of the fabric of our East Bay women's community for over two decades. Heather has supported so many of us. Now it's our chance to support her and keep this pillar of our community from being pushed out by high rent.

Please donate and share our cause if:

If you haven't yet experienced the magic, dancing with Heather in Temple Dara (and online) grows your capacity to:

• Tap into feminine ways of conscious embodiment, awakening and power

• De-stress (without drugs or medications)

• Find inspiration, connection and a sense of belonging in community

• Integrate and heal challenging experiences

• Let loose, feel free, alive, and celebrate life!

Our initial goal is to raise $16,000 to stay at Temple Dara to keep dancing for another six months and buy time to:

• find creative solutions to stay longer term

• give us time to transition to a new location without disrupting in-person offerings.

We honor Heather's vulnerability by allowing us to fundraise on her behalf. Please also know Heather will cover half of the increased rent and is doing a lot to keep the space: negotiating down the rent, finding rental partners and new sub-letters, looking for ongoing benefactors, etc.

And she needs community support with these coming changes. Thank you for showing up for Heather, our community, and women everywhere.
